Pick to Display (PTD)
Pick to Display
The new PictureView™ Pick To Display (PTD) device represents the latest technology
for picking and putting products. PictureView™ utilizes a bright
color OLED display screen for unsurpassed image and text viewing. You
now have the ability to show product images, special instructions, and
other critical compliance information. PictureView™ PTD also incorporates
voice technology to instruct or prompt the operator. PictureView™ PTD
devices can be mounted in an infinitely adjustable bus bar or can be used
as an independent mobile device on a standard wireless LAN.
The PTD device combines an LED indicator with an Organic Light-Emitting Diode or "OLED" display. This is the first time OLED technology has been employed in a device designed to act as an automation interface for warehouse pick/put operations. The screen is brighter than any other comparable technology - it does not require the "backlighting" used in LCD displays and it functions across a much wider temperature range, making it ideal for use in low temperature environments. The images and text presented on the screen are exceptionally vivid. And, since it can be viewed from an angle of 180 degrees (significantly wider than an LED or LCD display), operators will see the contents displayed on the bright, crisp OLED screen in their peripheral vision. PictureView also incorporates voice technology that can be used to prompt or help instruct the operator. These features lead to reduced search time for operators when compared to "pick/put to light" or any other interface technology. By reducing search time, operators and teams can improve their productivity by as much as 15% when compared to conventional pick to light. Budgetary Pricing for Pick to Display
For typical picking operations (standard carton flow rack with approximately 1,000 SKU locations), a PictureView "Pick to Display" system costs between US$140 and $150 per display location. These prices include:
- Work indicator devices (directs the activities of the operator in a zone or sub zone)
- Pick devices (provides SKU specific information at each pick interface)
- Bus rail (delivers power and communications to individual devices)
- Bus rail accessories (e.g. power-to-rail connectors, signal terminators, rail covers)
- Power supplies (transform and rectify 120 VAC)
- Ethernet link boxes (Acculight Pick to Light ONLY) and mechanical installation
Pick to Display and Pick to Light devices can both be used in the same system based on the picking characteristics of the specific products. Also one light can be used to direct picking to multiple pick or put locations for additional cost reduction.
The prices listed above do not include the PTD software, ERP/WMS integration software, computer hardware, and project management. Please contact us for a more detailed quote based on your specific requirements.
Brighter displays, greater viewing ranges and sound are just a small part of what PictureView technology has to offer your warehouse or distribution center. When you configure the Pick to Display as a transactional process to interface with your existing Warehouse Management System (WMS), or include it with your purchase of Warehouse Management Software, you create a sophisticated communication system capable of disseminating and collecting a wide range of information.
